Jennifer’s years of experience as a former senior trial attorney for insurance companies have been a tremendous asset in helping her attain the best possible results for her clients. As an insurance defense attorney, she has defended hundreds of policy holders for auto injury and premises liability cases in jury trials, bench trials, motions, mediations, and arbitrations. Jennifer was also promoted to be a senior attorney for a specialized fraud unit that focused on defending insurance policy holders against fraudulent insurance claims.
As a criminal defense attorney, Jennifer handles criminal misdemeanor and felony cases in district, municipal, and superior courts. She has successfully defended clients in hundreds of jury trials, bench trials, motions, pre-trial and probation hearings, and appellate briefs. Jennifer also has experience handling high profile domestic violence cases, orders of protection, and immigration issues in the context of criminal cases.
Jennifer is honored to be a member of the Washington Women Lawyer’s Judicial Evaluations Committee. She is also a member of the Seattle Chapter of Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association (MAMAS) where she is a part of Ladder Down, which is a group of amazing women lawyers focused on leadership and business development.
Community service is very important to Jennifer. Through MAMAS she has volunteered for job training and mentorship events as well as meal preparation at Mary’s Place—the only day center for homeless women in King County that accepts women with children. In the past Jennifer has enjoyed coaching University of Washington Law students, and Roosevelt High School students in mock trial and appellate court competitions. She has also been a past member of the Washington Bar Association’s Disciplinary Advisory Roundtable Committee.
Jennifer is a graduate of Suffolk Law School in Boston, MA where she volunteered at the Student Urban Remedy Foundation, Shelter Legal Services Foundation, and Boston Partners in Education. She also participated in second and third year trial competitions as well as the Justice Tom Clark Appellate Competition. Since then, Jennifer has continued to sharpen her trial skills by attending several regional seminars at the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College as well as other professional development seminars throughout the Seattle area.
When not practicing law, Jennifer loves spending time with her family. She and her husband have the great fortune of three amazing children—five year-old fraternal twins and an eight year-old son. She is a proud mommy who loves doing all sorts of activities such as travelling, camping, soccer, swimming, and music, with her family. Motherhood has brought a depth and richness to her life that enhances the way she practices law.
